How to choose the right cannabis oil product for you

Every cannabis concentrate product serves a different purpose. There are a lot of options, so we’ve made some recommendations to help you navigate the wide world of oils.

Cannabis concentrates offer pure, refined and smokeless consumption methods that can be experienced with or without the psychoactive effects of cannabis. In order to narrow down what type of cannabis oil will suit you best consider this:

What type of effects do you want?  Type of cannabis oil to try
Strong, euphoric high  Choose a cannabis oil that is high in THC
Balanced, mild high  Choose a cannabis oil that contains a close to equal mix of THC and CBD, such as a 1:1 product.
Therapeutic effects without feeling high  Choose a cannabis oil that is high in CBD and low in THC.

Novice Cannabis Oil users
If you’re new to cannabis, then you may want to stay away from ingestible products at the beginning. This is because ingesting capsules or oils can make it difficult to get the dosage right. The effects of these types of products can be quite strong and they last a long time. Consider starting out with a cannabis oil vape pen, an oral spray or sublingual tincture. Always start slowly and wait 30 minutes or so for the effects to fully kick in before ingesting more.

Moderately experienced Cannabis Oil users
If you have some experience with cannabis and concentrates, then you might do well with any cannabis oil product. Of course, we still recommend that you start slowly and to be mindful throughout.

Cannabis concentrate connoisseurs
If you are a regular user, you may want to have a more intense experience. In that case, capsules may be your best bet. Another experience to explore is ‘dabbable’ concentrates, which can deliver intense head-high psychoactive effects. Click here to learn more about dabs, waxes and budders.

Medical patients
As with all cannabis products, we recommend starting slow until you know what dosage best meets your needs. That being said, medical patients are often advised to consume as much THC as possible, which means tinctures or oil capsules are the best option because they allow for convenient, precise and high-level dosing.

Each cannabis oil product offers a different experience and the best way to find what works best for you is to safely experiment. Keep in mind that we all experience cannabis differently, so what works might be different for you than for someone else. Whether you’re trying oil capsules, tinctures, an oral spray or vape pen, start with small dosages until you know what type of effects you can expect.
